Are there posted guidlines for the various classes raced at the Loganville track? Specifically interested in 1/8 scale.
Is anyone running 1/5 scale?
Thanks for the info! Greg

I don't believe we've had any 1/5th scales out at the track that I've seen. As far as rules go....(someone correct me if I'm wrong) but I think the local track owners have defaulted to the RC Pro rules when there have been any questions. I've listed the specific 1/8th scale rules below but you can find the complete list on their website at: www.rcprosites.com/nitrooffroad.rcprosites.com/site/op/content/contentid/236Let us know if you have any specific questions. 1/8 FUEL OFF-ROAD SPECSMinimum track width - continuous 10 feet Maximum Buggy length - 28.74” (730mm) Maximum Buggy width - 12.2” (310mm) Maximum Buggy height - 9.84” (250mm) Buggy wheel base - Minimum - 10.8” (270mm) Maximum - 13.2” (330mm) Minimum weight - 112.9 ounces (3.2 kilos) 7lbs .9 oz. Wheel diameter - Minimum - 3.2” (81.28) Maximum - 3.4” (86.36mm) Wheel mounting - Must be securely mounted at all times. Maximum wheel width - 1.75” (44.45mm) Tire diameter - Minimum - 4.3” (109.22mm) Maximum - 4.7” (119.38mm) Maximum tire width - 1.85” (46.99mm) Engine - .21 only Fuel - Maximum 125 mililitres/cc includes tank, filter(s) and fuel line from tank to carb. Thanks!!
Does the sportsman class just run stock cars/trucks? Are there limits to the hop-ups that can be added before reaching the pro class?

I think the only limit is experience.

And results. If you start winning every week in Sportsman, they should ask you to move up to Pro.

Good choice there Jeff...I like the m2 bowtie and m3 crimefighter.
I had a set of m3 b.ties chewed up after a couple of races and switched to m2s with tread left.
I guess its depend how often you can buy tires.

What 1/10 nitro trucks are being used for class racing. Model? I wouldn't mind fixing myself up with one and start racing a few times a month. Thanks.

Thats a very good question viteck! I have been wondering the same thing. Coming down to GA again I found myself getting into the money pit once more. The last time I raced the Kyosho Ultima had just been released. The twisterstock should give you an idea. I went out and got a rc10t4 and have been trying my best to beat that sucker into the ground. A few a-arms and 1-bulk head later I have found electric has taken a back seat to Nitro which is fine. Now what I need to know is what classes 1/10 -1/8 -truck, truggy, buggy, 4wd etc is the one for me? Which class has the biggest turn out event after event and what would be a good starting class for me? Keep in Mind Loganville is a short 20 to 30 minutes away from me here in Hoschton. Basically I am itching to get back into racing and would have done it with the t4-brushless however at this point I am leaning towards the gt2. I am looking at Team Associated like the Black & Decker of RC Consumer Products. Does anybody here have any input? 1. Most competitive class? 2. Largest class turn out weekend after weekend. 3. Within that class what vehicle tends to stands out?
Keeping in mind the driver makes the defined difference.
Any response or help would be greatly appreciated! Thank You! Brian

Welcome to the forum Brian, glad you found us. I did the same thing a few years ago when I got back into racing and bought a bunch of electric gear just to go to the track and find out, that everyone was running nitro.
As your questions are concerned, #1, All of the classes are competitive, but it really depends on how competitive you are. #2, Largest turnout to smallest 1/8 buggy (pro more than sportsman) Arena Montster Truck (truggy) Production Monster Truck 1/10 Scale truck. #3. The Losi 8ight Buggy
Hope that helps.

I appreciate the response! I actually stopped out at the Sugar Bowl middle of last summer and met another Marine. Talked to the guys for a moment and started looking into nitro cars from that Saturday. I just found out about this board a few weeks ago and have found some pretty helpful information. I also found R/C Universe and was Surprised to find a few of the reviews were done on the Loganville Track. I am looking at nitro starters -buggy - Redcat, VTX, XTM, RD Logics, or a step out with the Cen Matrix, just trying to make a decision as I look forward to the Psycho Nitro Blast! I think you may have had some hand with the flier? Thanks John, TS -Brian

Sounds good, it may have been me that you met at the Sugar Bowl, I was in the Marines 2001 - 2005. Semper Fi.
As for the starter buggy, I would say to go ahead and get a good one, rather then buying a low end buggy and in 6 months to a year, buying a new one.
Yeah, I built the Psych oNitro Blast website, hope you like it. Look forward to seeing you there. If I don't recognize you, just look for me and the General Lee LST, and introduce yourself. I should be there all weekend.

I'd say that any buggy stands out it just depends on who's driving it and what they can do with it.
